MARK STATHAM captured the Captain’s Prize at OLDHAM after recording two nett rounds of 62 for 124.
He finished three shots clear of Phil Dockerty, whose 127 comprised 65 and 62.
The players took the best score from their first two rounds into the final 18 holes, which were used to determine the winner of the Captain’s Spoon.
Here Stuart Hanson (74-13-61) emerged the victor from six players who returned nett 62.
Second was Ray Fry (75-13-62), while third place went to Mick Ganley (74-12-62). Other 62s were recorded by Mark Statham (69-7-62), Brian Best (82-18-62), Dockerty (71-9-62) and Rick Sweet (68-6-62).
Winners of a four-ball better-ball medal were Dave Hewitt and Alex Simmons (54), from Norman Radcliffe snr and Matt Radcliffe (57), and Alan Rotchell and Dave Finn (58).
Nick Sunderland won the Captain’s Prize at SADDLEWORTH by six shots.
He had rounds of 77-14-63 and 81-14-67 for 130, which was well clear of Iain Cash whose 136 comprised identical rounds of 84-16-68.
Steven Harrington was third on 137 with 73-6-67 and 76-6-70.
Winner of the second round was Richard Hughes (70-4-66), from Sunderland (81-14-67), who won a card play-off against Mark Orme (74-7-67).
Winner of a singles Stableford was Peter Beswick (40 points) from Stephen Pullen (39) and Steven Harrington (38).
The Centenary Vase at STAMFORD produced a win for Paul Walker with 81-17-64.
Dave Gilmore (82-17-65) was runner-up, while third place went to Mick Thompson (77-11-66).
The best gross score of 73 came from captain Ian Grimsditch, Eric Mirfin and David Park.
The Morris Medal for the best score over the two rounds of the Vice-President’s Prize was won by Dave Batty with 133. He was four shots clear of Andy Earlam.
The first round was hotly contested with Batty (71-4-67) winning on the card from Earlam (73-6-67). Third was Mirfin (73-5-68).
A terrific round of 77-17-60 saw Alex Martin take top spot in the second round from Batty (70-4-66) and Keith Dockerty (74-6-68).
Mark Pickering leads the way after the first round of the Captain’s Prize at CROMPTON and ROYTON following a round of 71-8-63.
Second was Malcolm Penney (80-16-64), on the card from Alan Pickles (82-18-64).
There were also excellent returns from Robert Calow (68-5-63) and Jordan Flint (67-3-64), but they are ineligible for prizes as they are juniors.
Junior Captain’s Prize saw Bradley Canning victorious with a two-round total of 132, which comprised nett 69 and 63.
He finished seven shots clear of Flint (72 and 67 for 139), while third spot went to Calow (69 and 73 for 142). Fourth was Liam Marshall (88 and 65 for 153).
First-round leader in the Kennedy Cup at BLACKLEY is Darren Duerden (73-8-65), on the card from Andy Benton (76-11-65). Lying third is Mike Ruddy (71-6-65).
Alan Lane, Julian Robinson, Andy O’Neill and Duncan Teal were the runaway winners of the Broughton House, a team Stableford.
They amassed 131 points which was six ahead of Chris and Andy Benton, and Des Peacock and Danny Speight. Third were Ken Bolger, Alan Pattillo, David Royle and Mike Ruddy, who scored 119.
Winners of a nine-hole greensome were Cliff Barrett and Sue Oldham with a a score of 39-8-31.
BROOKDALE held the fifth and sixth qualifiers for their Captain’s Prize.
Paul Wood (72-7-65) claimed top spot in the first division of the fifth from Steve Boyle (70-4-66), Steven Barlow (77-10-67) and John Uren (76-9-67).
Tony Hart (82-20-62) was the clear winner of the second division from Phil Clegg (85-20-65) and Paul Holt (80-14-66).
Robert Ashelby (74-11-63) headed the first division in No. 6 from Gary Lever (70-5-65), Gary A Smith (74-7-67) and Matthew Hampson (72-5-67).
Alan Colmer (76-13-63) triumphed in division two from Phil Picken (84-19-65), Paul Dunkerley (88-13-65) and Bert Needham (84-18-66).
Eric Smith was the winner of the Tuesday medal at WERNETH with a score of 84-22-62. Second was Clint Shaw (71-8-63).
