Radclyffe on march
Date published: 23 July 2009
WITH title rivals Greengate and Europa Exiles falling foul of the wet weather, the way was clear for Newtonhurst to go top of the Ashton and Oldham Cricket Alliance.
However, they had to settle for a share of the lead after they suffered a three-wicket defeat at the hands of Radclyffe.
Taking first knock, Newtonhurst were restricted to 112 for eight. Boone and Butterworth scored 22 apiece.
Stone, with three for 10, did his best to inspire a fightback, but Radclyffe reached their target with a bit to spare.
Daubney made 36 while Johnson was unbeaten on 18.
