RELATIONS between Bamford Fieldhouse and Heyside appear to be warming.
Umpires’ secretary Peter Darby remarked on the good spirit between the two sides, both during and after the game at Hollin Lane.
Andy Barton, the Bamford captain, even sent a jug of beer into the visitors’ dressing room, and some of the Heyside lads stayed behind for a drink.
“In view of the recent history between the clubs, both are to be congratulated on their efforts,” said Trevor Harrison, general secretary of the league.
