TONGE’S Manchester Premier League ambitions were dented when they lost 9-7 at home to fellow title contenders South Manchester RBL.

Wins from Gary Ellis (21-4), Jimmy Derby (21-7), Matt Gillies (21-10) and Darren Griffiths (21-14) clinched a 182-161 victory on aggregate, but Manchester’s six wins gave them the lion’s share of the individual points.

Tonge need to bounce back next Wednesday when they travel to Congleton outfit Railway Hotel.
