Aiming for bully!
Date published: 29 July 2009
THE Oldham men’s darts team will be aiming for bullseye in a major tournament on Sunday.
After twice finishing runners-up in the northern area play-offs of the BDO Inter-Counties Cup, Oldham will be aiming for top spot this time round.
As champions of the Lancashire GMC (Greater Manchester) Super League, Oldham will be representing the county at Glasshoughton Working Men’s Club, Castleford.
They will be taking on the champions of Lancashire, Yorkshire, Tyne and Wear, Humberside, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire.
Oldham will have a strong side, though they will be without three key players. Lee Williams and Stuart Holden are competing elsewhere while Mick Kenway is recovering from heart surgery.
New teams are invited to join the Hollinwood darts, crib and dominoes league, which plays on Tuesday evenings.
The league’s next meeting is on Monday, August 3 (8pm) at the Church Inn (Chapel Road) when old and new teams are welcome.
