AND THE WINNER IS: Robbie Connor celebrates success.
SHAW boxer Robbie Connor retained his unbeaten record with victory on Irlam ABC’s show at Flixton.
The 19-year-old, a member of the Derker-based Oldham Boxing and Personal Development Centre, scored a unanimous points victory against Barton’s Damien Dawson.
Connor, giving away two-and-a-half kilos in weight, impressed against Dawson, who came into the bout on the back of a couple of impressive knockouts.
Both boxers traded punches at close range for much of the opening two rounds.
Connor was caught in the second, but hit back to take the round by reverting back to his slick boxing.
And Connor continued where he left off by taking the third round to seal victory.
Joe Albison, another Oldham Boxing and Personal Development Centre fighter, lost a close points decision to Lee Warburton on his debut.
