FROM West View, Friarmere, to Oakfield, Droylsden, grounds were soggy and boggy in the Armstrongs Office Furniture Saddleworth and District Cricket League on Saturday.
None of the 12 fixtures in divisions one and two got started which meant, for the first time this season, the entire programme of matches was washed out.
SHAW won a dramatic Moore Cup final at Holebottom Clough after repelling a Greenfield fightback.
Mark Ingham’s men, defending 172, scraped home by a three-run margin after rain forced the final into a fourth night.
Greenfield, who looked dead and buried at 48 for four, lost their last wicket when they were within touching distance of victory.
