Derby spoils up for grabs

THERE is always added spice when Crompton take on Oldham, so expect a lively atmosphere when the two local Lake Garage CLL clubs go head to head at Glebe Street on Sunday.
This season’s form suggests Crompton are favourites to make home advantage count, but derby matches are always unpredictable and Oldham will be keen to shrug off last weekend’s home defeat against Ashton.
For their part, Crompton had been enjoying a decent spell before reverses at home to Norden and away to Rochdale.
They warm up for Sunday’s game with a trip to Littleborough tomorrow, while Oldham host Rochdale.
Werneth are desperate to end a losing run, but the visit of Norden tomorrow makes that task doubly difficult.
League leaders Norden are in sparkling form and will be going flat out to build a cushion over second-placed Monton and Weaste, who face a tricky game at Heywood.
Werneth go to Unsworth on Sunday, while our other local team, Royton, make the short trip to Middleton tomorrow before hosting Clifton 24 hours later.
This weekend’s matches revert to an earlier start time of 1.30pm.
TOMORROW: Ashton v Radcliffe; Clifton v Unsworth; Heywood v Monton and Weaste; Littleborough v Crompton; Middleton v Royton; Oldham v Rochdale; Walsden v Milnrow; Werneth v Norden.
SUNDAY: Crompton v Oldham; Milnrow v Middleton; Monton and Weaste v Ashton; Norden v Walsden; Radcliffe v Heywood; Rochdale v Littleborough; Royton v Clifton; Unsworth v Werneth.
