Swimming pair lead gold rush

SAM HILL and Caitlin Wareing each captured seven gold medals for Oldham Aquatics in the City of Bradford End of Season A & B Meet.

Sam had an impressive weekend, winning the B grade 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle, 50m and 200m butterfly along with the 100m and 200m individual medley.

He also added three bronzes in the 50m and 200m backstroke and 100m butterfly.

In the case of Caitlin, her successes came in the 11-years A grade 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle, 100m and 200m backstroke, 100m breaststroke and 200m IM and bronzes in the 50m and 200m breaststroke and the B grade 50m butterfly and 100m IM.

Lauren Tindall won the 10-years B grade 50m backstroke and breaststroke and was second in the 100m freestyle and 100m breaststroke and third in the 50m freestyle.

Amy Cunningham won the B grade 100m breaststroke adding silver in the 200m breaststroke and 100m freestyle and bronzes in the 100m and 200m backstroke.

Georgia Eddison was third in the 200m freestyle and 200m IM.

For the boys in this age group, Henry Coverley won gold in the B grade 200m breaststroke and 200m individual medley adding silvers in the 100m IM, 100m breaststroke, 100m freestyle and 50m backstroke along with bronzes in the 50m butterfly, 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke.

Michael Entwistle was runner-up in the A grade 50m freestyle adding golds in the B grade 50m and 100m breaststroke and a silver in the 100m backstroke.

In the 11-years age group, Sarah Loft won the B grade 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle and 50m backstroke. She was also second in the 100m backstroke and third in the 200m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 200m breaststroke.

Bobby Cook was a double gold winner in the B grade 100m IM and 200m freestyle, runner-up in the 100m backstroke and 50m breaststroke and claimed bronzes in the 100m freestyle and 50m breaststroke.

Rachel Brocklehurst added silvers in the B grade 200m freestyle and 200m butterfly.

Kyle Clegg was a victor in the A grade 200m breaststroke and was runner-up in the 100m IM. He also won the B 50m butterfly and silver in the 100m butterfly.

In the 12-years age group, Rebecca Lewis collected golds in the B 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke, 100m backstroke and 200m IM. She was also second in the 100m IM, 100m butterfly and 200m backstroke and third in the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle.

Issy Hibbert won silver in the B 50m butterfly while Sammy Marsden was third in the B 50m freestyle.

Oliver Coverley won golds in the B 100m and 200m breaststroke, 100m butterfly, 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke and 100m IM as well as achieving silver in the 50m freestyle and bronze in the A grade 200m IM and 200m backstroke.

Peter Cunningham was a winner in the B 200m IM, 200m freestyle and 200m backstroke, also picking up a bronze in the 100m backstroke.

In the 14 years age group, Harry Entwistle won the A 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle and 100m backstroke, adding two further silvers.

Hannah Clegg won the A 100m backstroke, adding a silver in the 200m freestyle.

Sarah Mitchell won silver in the B 50m and 200m breaststroke and finished third in the 200m freestyle.

In the 15 years and over age group, George Morreal won gold in the A 200m backstroke and picked up silver in the 200m freestyle.

Holly Bradbury was a gold winner in the B 50m and 100m breaststroke,100m IM and 50m butterfly while Vicky Burgess triumphed in the B 100m backstroke.
