Saddleworth and District Cricket League
UPPERMILL have the chance to exact rapid revenge on their Tanner Cup defeat when they host Bamford Fieldhouse in the Armstrongs Office Furniture Saddleworth and District Cricket League tomorrow.
Whether Matt Taylor’s men can do it is another matter as Bamford are still unbeaten and could conceivably win the title this weekend if other results go their way.
Austerlands, in second, are at home to Greenfield, who were well on their way to beating Heyside last Saturday until the rain arrived.
Third-placed Saddleworth visit Droylsden while Hollinwood, in fourth, welcome Stayley to Lime Lane.
Tomorrow: Austerlands v Greenfield; Droylsden v Saddleworth; Friarmere v Glodwick; Heyside v Moorside; Hollinwood v Stayley; Uppermill v Bamford Fieldhouse. Open date: Shaw.
o DELPH, buoyed by a narrow defeat over Drakes Huddersfield League premiership one pacesetters Scholes, entertain basement boys Micklehurst tomorrow.
Grant Jones’ side sit 16 points off the pace but, with six games to go, they haven’t given up hope of snatching the title.
o WOODHOUSES, up to fifth place in the Lancashire County League after back-to-back wins last weekend, are in good heart for tomorrow’s home game against Cheetham Hill.
