CHADDERTON pulled off the result of the weekend in the first division of the Vodkat North West Counties League - a 3-0 victory at previously unbeaten leaders Irlam.
Home keeper Lee Lambert pulled off two superb saves to deny Danny Bell before Chadderton made a breakthrough midway through the opening half when John Jones headed home Martin Love’s free kick.
The lively Bell set up Andy Pheby who headed Chadderton into a two-goal lead early in the second half.
Louis Maynard was denied twice by Lambert before Bell sealed victory in the 72nd minute with a goal he richly deserved.
Chadderton, who gave a debut to keeper Chris Ventress and a first start to Matthew Walton - both signed recently from Uppermill - have a home league game tonight against Cheadle Town.
OLDHAM TOWN were beaten 2-1 at home by Leek CSOB in the first division of the Vodkat NWCL.
Anthony Tarr gave the Staffordshire side an early lead which they doubled soon after the restart thanks to Will Bown.
Town had their moments as Wayne Ware struck a post and also forced the Leek keeper into a super save.
Darren Scanlan halved the deficit in the 78th minute and Town created a number of clear-cut chances in the last 10 minutes only for Leek to hold on.
MOSSLEY were unable to dent the 100-per-cent record of Lancaster City in UniBond League first division north as they were beaten 2-0 at home.
Mike Rushton put second-placed Lancaster ahead in the 14th minute and victory was sealed by an effort from Paul Jarvis within a minute of the restart.
Mossley are in league action tomorrow at AFC Fylde.
