Werneth’s photo finish

Jane Fletcher and Gail Rowbotham triumphed in the George and Bessie Nash Greensome at WERNETH with a score of 68.4.

They finished just 0.4 of a shot ahead of Lady Captain Hilda Garner and Heather Jeffreys, whose return was 88-19.2-68.8.

Third were Fiona Dooley and Lisa Hall (83-12.4-70.6), while fourth place went to Margaret Coleman and Jane Clark (93-16.8-76.2).

Former Lady Captain Clarice Morris won the Lady Captain’s Final at BLACKLEY with a round of 88-17-71.

Runner-up was Bernadette Kilcommons (87-14-73), on the card from Jeanette Ryder (86-13-73).

Eileen Simpson and Barbara Shuttleworth were the runaway winners of a four-ball better-ball Stableford at SADDLEWORTH.

They scored 39 points, four clear of runners-up Jean Lowe and Pam Taylor.
