New format for Oldham men
Date published: 03 September 2009
OLDHAM men’s darts team get their new season under way at home to Eccleston on Sunday.
They are taking part in the “Super Eights”, which has replaced the premier division of the Lancashire GMC Super League. Matches are the best of seven legs as opposed to five.
Oldham, who have been crowned premier division winners for five of the last six years, go into the curtain-raiser without John Downs, who has decided to play for Blackley at a lower level.
The action takes place at the Flower Pot (12.30pm).
FOLLOWING on from the men at the Flower Pot, Oldham women open their campaign, which is still called the Lancashire GMC Super League, against Blackpool.
