ARM-IN-ARM: Cebert Glasgow and Richard Connolly.
GLODWICK second-team captain Richard Connolly took four wickets in four balls to win the final match of the season against Heyside.
“I felt quite relaxed,” recalled the 38-year-old slow medium pacer before claiming his fourth victim. “All I wanted to do was make the batsman play the ball and he missed and I hit.”
Connolly, who had previously taken a hat-trick on a Glodwick tour, finished with figures of five for seven.
The game brought to a close Cebert Glasgow’s career.
The 61-year-old Glodwick opening batsman has called it a day after more than than four decades in the game.
After starting his career at Royton in 1968, he has spells at East Lancs PM, Thornham, British Aerospace, but he saved his highest score of 145 for Glodwick when they played in the North Manchester League.
