SADDLEWORTH scooped the Brennand Cup for the fifth time in the last six years.
Because of a clerical error made by the Saddleworth and District Cricket League, Hollinwood were incorrectly named as the winners in last week’s Oldham Evening Chronicle.
The cup is awarded to the club with the highest aggregate points total over the season in divisions one and two. Saddleworth had 625 points to Hollinwood’s 610.
Meanwhile, the 2009 JK Bacon Trophy — the last-six competition — will be discussed at tonight’s league meeting at Uppermill CC (start 8pm).
SHAW’S Steve Whiston and Oram Simms, of Stayley, with 30 apiece shared the Neil Parish Trophy for the most dismissals by a wicketkeeper.
Final standings: 30 - S Whiston (Shaw), O Simms (Stayley); 29 - A Brown (Glodwick), A Griffiths (Uppermill); 28 - J Maher (Bamford Fieldhouse); 25 - C Gill (Greenfield), J McGovern (Hollinwood); 24 - R Hugo (Heyside); 18 - A Lavin (Saddleworth); 13 - A Walker (Friarmere); 9 - R Baines (Moorside); 8 - A Ettimadai (Austerlands); 7 - C Monks (Moorside).
