Spoons success for pair

Sharing the spoils after the Joan Hirst Cup charity day.
IT WAS a g’day for Brenda Hatherill and Pauline Richardson as they won the Australian Spoons at SADDLEWORTH.
They had a score of 39 points in the Stableford which was well clear of second-placed Julie Ward and Barbara Shuttleworth (34 pts).
EWGA No 11 saw Hazel Rogerson (96-25-71) head the field from runner-up Sheila Cooper (99-27-72).
Winner of a medalford at WERNETH, half medal and half Stableford, was Judith Wilkinson with a score of 15.
Sheila Waterhouse (19) took the first division sweep from Fiona Dooley (21). Dee Whittingham (26) claimed the second division sweep from Gail Rowbotham and Betty Keating who both scored 26.
Vice-captain Barbara Stansfield won the latest EWGA medal at BLACKLEY with a score of 99-27-72. Runner-up was Jean Meehan (93-20-73) on the card from Pat Rabbett (94-21-73).
The four clubs and putter competition saw Joan Ribchester (107-34-73) triumph on the card from Denise Hurst (90-17-73). Third was Brenda Hall (101-26-75).
