Tonge forced to share third spot

TONGE have finished joint third in the Manchester Premier League following two away defeats this week.
They completed their campaign in crown green bowling’s most competitive league with a 9-6 reverse at Sale XL on Wednesday.
Gary Ellis (21-6), Andrew Cairns (21-14), Mark Dwayre (21-14) and Colin Lane (21-19) were the winners for the local side.
Tonge lost 11-3 at top Wigan outfit Garswood Hall in their penultimate match of the season.
Laurence Hallett (21-12) and Thomas Dobson (21-13) were the only winners for Tonge.
West Yorkshire side Lower Hopton won the title, fending off a late charge from Garswood Hall.
South Manchester RBL were joint third with Tonge.

TOMORROW (B Division): Lees/Springhead v Dogwood at 9.45am; Prestwich v Failsworth at noon; Vixens v North Chadderton at 2.15pm.
SUNDAY (A Division): Springbank v Tonge at 9.45am; Nimble Nook v New Street at 2.15pm.
The match between Royle and Hopwood has been cancelled as Hopwood are representing Greater Manchester in the British Team Championship at Todmorden (Sunday 10am).
