On the Wembley trail

MOSSLEY and Oldham Town are on the Wembley trail tomorrow . . . in different competitions.

Mossley kick off their FA Trophy campaign with a home preliminary-round tie against Bedworth United.

Town, meanwhile, head for Winsford United in the first round proper of the FA Vase.

Mossley take on opponents from The Zamaretto Football League, Division One Midlands on the back of three successive victories.

Bedworth, in contrast, are next-to-bottom in their league after losing five of their last six matches.

Midfield man and six-goal top scorer Matty Kay returns for Mossley after completing a one-match ban.

Oldham Town aim to cause an upset at Winsford in a match involving teams from the premier and first divisions of the Vodkat North-West Counties League.

It has been a difficult start to the season for Town following the summer departure of a number of senior players, although striker James Curley is back after an unsuccessful spell at Glossop North End.

CHADDERTON are in action at Wigan Robin Park in the first division of the Vodkat NWCL.

Wigan had been expected to be challengers for promotion, but are currently mid-table after a patchy start to their campaign.

Chadderton have lost only once in six league games, but they will be without left-back Chris Pauley, who has a groin strain and Louis Maynard (at university).

Chadderton reserves play Colne at Broadway.
