RU men aim to build on first win
Date published: 02 October 2009
OLDHAM RUFC will be bidding to build on last Saturday’s first league win of the season when they travel to Fleetwood tomorrow.
After losing their first three matches in North Lancs/Cumbria division, Oldham got off the mark for the season against Upper Eden with a nail-biting 17-11 victory.
Oldham, who won at Fleetwood last season, will be looking to move clear of the bottom end of the table.
Centre/back-row forward Joe Hesse will be out for six weeks with a hand injury, while back-row man Luke Roscoe is another absentee as he has started his university studies.
The loss of Hesse and Roscoe has been offset by the return of stand-off/centre Mark Goodman and back-row Jordan McEwan.
