BROOKDALE claimed the team honours when the Oldham and District Golf League held their annual end-of-season tournament, at Werneth.
The best three scores from each club count towards the Brian Atack Trophy and they had two pairings in the prizes on 46 and 44 points and had another 44 tally for a 134 total that was four better than Ashton and seven ahead of Werneth.
Winners on the day were Ian Duncan and Barry Preece (Ashton) with 47 points while Mike Armfield and Ian Thomas led the Brookdale charge on 46 for runners-up.
Third were another Brookdale pair, Mark Riley and John Hughes (44 points) which pushed home-club pair Tony McNamara and Alan Goodall to fourth and nudged Brookdale’s Chris Gleave and John Strachan out of the frame on a card play-off.
The day also doubled up as presentation of the league awards.
