Town team in superb whitewash success

THE Oldham men’s darts team produced some sensational throwing to whitewash Lune Valley, one of their main rivals in the Lancashire ‘Super Eights,’ by a 10-0 scoreline.
It was a terrific match which produced an amazing 222 hundreds and ten 180s, with Oldham achieving a team average of 78.15 every three darts.
And Oldham were up against a Lune Valley team which contained four current Lancashire county players.
Lee Williams was named man of the match after his 4-1 victory in 16, 16, 18 and 11 darts at an average of 89.32.
Peter Connolly fired 16 hundreds and two 180s in his 4-3 success, John Moreton won 4–2 in 17, 17, 20 and 17 darts while Dave Rawstron’s 4-1 win came in 20,16, 19 and 19 darts.
Oldham’s other wins came from Ian Walters (4-3), Scott Morris (4-0), Gary Jackson (4–2), Stuart Holden (4-3), Dave Yates (4-3) and Lee Holden (4-0).
Oldham are at home again on Sunday when Blackpool are the visitors to the Flower Pot.
