SADDLEWORTH Rangers extended their points advantage at the top of the Rugby Oldham Challenge table to 10 with a 50-16 home win over Myton in National Conference League division one.

Keith Brennan's men defeated the Hull-based visitors comfortably enough to record a seventh win in eight matches so far this season which also kept them top of the table and well-set for a push at promotion to the premier division.

In second spot are Rochdale Cobras, who edged their home game with Cadishead Rhinos in North-West Counties League division four 12-10, with Netani Suka in outstanding form.

The low scoring nature of the victory means that the Cobras are now only two points in front of rivals Oldham St Anne's, 34-20 home winners over Crosfields.

Higginshaw's victory over Bamber Bridge sees them poised to attack the top three.

Meanwhile, Waterhead will enter this weekend's home match against Eccles and Salford Juniors hoping to expunge memories of their 32-0 reverse away to East Leeds.
