Shield stroll for Chaddy

CHADDY End cruised into the the last-eight of the Manchester FA Sunday Shield with an emphatic 7-1 defeat of RVP.
The reigning D&J Builders (North-West) Ltd Oldham Sunday League premier division champions were too good for last season’s County Cup winners.
Steve Barrow helped himself to a hat-trick for Chaddy against a side who were without several regular players.
Meanwhile, unbeaten Limeside Athletic ‘A’ are within touching distance of top-spot in David Giblin division one.
In a clash of the title contenders, they brushed aside Fitton Hill Rangers, the leaders, 9-2 to the narrow the gap to just two points. Athletic also have two games in hand.
At the opposite end of the table, Shahjahal Unity are still searching for their first win of the season after they were beaten 1-0 at home by Rose of Lancaster.
Bridge Inn climbed to mid-table thanks to a 4-2 defeat of Parkside, while Red Star and Highfield United shared the spoils in an exciting 3-3 draw.
Royton FC were knocked off the summit in the Jack Abbott premier division after they went down 3-1 at Oddies.

In the other top-flight fixture, Coppice United and Lowerhouse United fought out a 1-1 draw.
Rifle Range Royal Blues have stretched clear in division two.
They made it seven wins out of seven in the league with a 3-1 victory at home to Lowerhouse United ‘B’.
Nearest rivals Northside lost ground after they were held to a 1-1 draw by lowly Springhead Libs.
But North Star Athletic are celebrating after they recorded their first win of the season at the seventh attempt.
They moved off the bottom spot after a 2-1 defeat of fellow strugglers Oldham United.
There were wins for Limeside Athletic ‘B’ — they enjoyed a 5-3 success over Old Grey Mare — and Lark Inn, who recorded a 6-3 victory at home to Royal Oak.
