CHADDERTONIANS wrecked Howe Bridge Mills’ eight-game unbeaten record in the Lancashire Amateur League premier division.
The local outfit, who recorded a fine 3-1 win, were in the ascendancy from the word go and were ahead in the fifth minute through Rick Massey.
Further goals from Steve Barrow and Andy Whitaker put them in control.
And, although Howe Bridge reduced the deficit before the break, Chadds never looked like conceding again.
Failsworth Dynamos recorded a 3-1 victory at Horwich RMI, but Oldham Hulmeians went down 6-3 at home to Accrington Amateurs in division two.
Despite falling behind, Hulmeians went 2-1 up through Simon Toms and Phil Yates but some generous defending saw Accrington sweep into a 4-2 lead at half-time.
Toms notched a second but the visitors made sure of victory with two further strikes in the last 15 minutes.
There was no joy for Chadds reserves, who were beaten 4-0 by an impressive Prestwich side.
Failsworth Dynamos reserves produced a superb display to defeat their Castle Hill counterparts 5-1 in division three.
Tom Stuttard helped himself to a hat-trick and Mark Boland got the two.
A mazy run from defender Ryan Boardman in which he beat six players set up Stuttard’s treble and the team’s fifth of the game.
Chadds ‘A’ continued their good run in division four with a 1-0 win at Hesketh Reserves — Mark Hendstock got the goal — while the ‘B’ were held to a goalless draw at home to Thornleigh ‘A’ in division six.
Meanwhile, a late penalty condemned Hulmeians reserves to a 2-1 defeat at Ainsworth reserves in division five. Elliot McKinnell scored for the local side.
It was also a sorry afternoon for Hulmeians ‘A’ and ‘B’, who suffered heavy defeats against Broughton Amateurs ‘B’ and Horwich RMI ‘A’ respectively in division seven.
