Moore on the mark
Date published: 09 November 2009
STEVEN MOORE scored his second goal in the space of seven days as Mossley picked up a point in a 1-1 draw at home to Wakefield FC in the UniBond League north division.
And it was another late effort from the former Salford City striker that extended the Lilywhites’ unbeaten run to 13 games in league and cup.
Mossley fell behind a minute before the break when John Froggatt struck for Wakefield, who began the day four places in front of Chris Willcock’s side.
But Moore, who scored deep into injury time against Brackley Town in the FA Carlsberg Trophy last Saturday, was the last-gasp hero once again, equalising with seven minutes to go to earn the Lilywhites a sixth draw in 14 league games this season.
Meanwhile, Chadderton’s fixture at Daisy Hill and Oldham Boro’s game at home to AFC Liverpool in the Vodkat North-West Counties League division one were postponed after both pitches failed morning inspections.
