On the road to defeat
Date published: 12 November 2009
HOLLINWOOD, without a point in division four of the Pennine League, hit a spot of bother when they visited West Craven.
Several cars got lost on their way to the ground in Barnoldswick and the home side took advantage of the mix up to lead 16-0 at the mid-way point of the match.
Hollinwood were better after the break — they were more organised and played as a team — but they conceded another try as they went down to a 20-0 defeat.
Leading by example, Peter Jackson was man-of-the-match for the local outfit, while Alistair Williams looked dangerous with the ball.
Rob Penswick, in his first game back after an injury lay-off, performed well at loose forward.
Paul and Mark Johnson got through a lot of tackling and hard yards, but they were unable to break through the West Craven line.
