Royle’s crown slips further

Bowls: REIGNING champions Royle suffered another setback in their bid to retain the Inbev Winter Bowling League ‘A’ Division title at Chadderton Cot when they lost 9-2 to Hopwood.



Springbank strengthened their grip at the top of table with a 10-1 demolition of the host club, for whom F Shaw was the only winner.

And New Street maintained their resurgence with an 8-3 defeat of Nimble Nook.

Lees/Springhead continued their domination of the ‘B’ Division title race with a 10-1 victory over Dogwood, while North Chadderton stayed unbeaten with a 9-2 verdict against Vixens to go second and Prestwich defeated Failsworth 7-4.
