DARTS: OLDHAM men’s darts team lost the last four games as they were held to a 5-5 draw at home Bury in the Lancashire GMC Super Eights — but they still hold a narrow advantage at the top of the table.
Peter Connolly opened up with a 4-1 win — he boasted a three-dart average of 84.03 — before Dave Rawstron made it 2-0 with an identical margin of victory (82.82 ave).
Bury pulled one back, but wins for Dave Yates (4-3, 82.77), John Moreton (4-3, 82.73) and Lee Williams (4-1, 88.0) put Oldham in command.
But the visitors, including wins from England internationals Paul Whitworth and Les Fitton, took the remaining four games to snatch a share of the spoils.
Oldham’s next opponents are title-rivals Rochdale Borough at the Flowerpot on Sunday, December 13.
