FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY’S 14-match unbeaten run came to an end when they were beaten 2-1 at FC Halifax Town in round two of the UniBond League President’s Cup last night.
The Lilywhites went ahead through a Graham Kay header, but the Shaymen were level by the break after Mark Peers’ 20-yard shot took a deflection to beat ’keeper Peter Collinge.
Mossley gave as good as they got in the tie, but they left stunned when James Dean scrambled home a last-gasp injury time winner for Halifax.
