Mark maintains unbeaten start

TABLE TENNIS: MARK RAMBSBOTTOM kept his 100-per-cent record in a 7–3 win for league leaders Glodwick over BAE A in the Oldham Table Tennis League first division, but there were two good wins for Tony Smith in defeat.
Adam Rowbottom was undefeated but his Hollinwood B still went down 7-3 to their A team, Ian Quinn, George Jones and Colin Boardman all winning two.
Darren Lindley was unbeaten in his first match of the season for Saddleworth A in their 6-4 defeat of Grotton A, while Gary Skinner won three for Werneth B in their 8-2 defeat of Hyde YMCA A.
The Honeywell A team beat bottom-of-the-table Werneth C 10-0, while Werneth A beat BAE B 9-1.
In the second division, Keith Moores and Mark Simpson scored maximums for Uppermill A in the 8-2 defeat of Hollinwood D.
Hollinwood F recorded their first win of the season with a 6-4 defeat of Honeywell D thanks mainly to three from Paul King.
Matt Ward and Paul Howarth both trebled in Coldhurst A’s 8-2 defeat of Unison A.
Steve Mather had three good wins in Pennine’s 7-3 defeat of Hyde YMCA B, while Werneth B just edged out Hollinwood E 6-4 with Mike Pellowe scoring a maximum.
Tony Prescott scored three for Saddleworth B against Unison C but couldn’t prevent a 6-4 defeat in the third division.
There was a tremendous treble for Dennis Heyes for Unison D against Owls A, however this could not prevent his team from going down 6-4.
Gilders and St Saviour’s A fought out a 5-5 draw, Brian Huskinson being undefeated for the Saints.
Paul Whyatt won three for Unison B in their 7-3 defeat of Coldhurst C.
There were maximums for Stuart Hanson and Jim Bradbury in Uppermill B’s 8-2 defeat of Coldhurst D.
Deaf B prevailed 7-3 in the top-of-the-table clash in the fourth division with Honeywell F thanks mainly to Matt Gartside’s treble.
Glodwick Academy had Abdul Gufar and Zac Rajput to thank as they scored maximums in the 7-3 defeat of Werneth F.
There was a good win for Our Lady’s C team, 6-4 over Werneth G, Fred Pickles winning three in defeat.
Our Lady’s A team won 7-3 against St Saviour’s B, with three wins for Dean Allman, while Werneth E leapt to the top of the table with a 10-0 whitewash of Coldhurst E.
