Mossley bow out
Date published: 25 November 2009
NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: THERE was no repeat of last weekend’s heroics as Mossley were beaten 2-0 by Ilkeston Town in last night’s Carlsberg FA Vase third qualifying round replay at Seel Park.
Two goals from Gary Ricketts in a five-minute spell after the break ended the Lilywhites’ hopes of reaching the first-round proper.
While Chris Willcock’s side fully deserved a second chance after a battling 1-1 draw at the New Manor Ground on Saturday, they hardly threatened this time in driving rain and a near gale-force wind.
