SNOOKER: WITH joint leaders Stanley Road suffering a 5-1 defeat at Three C’s, Springbank B opened up a three-point gap at the top of the Oldham Amateur Snooker League thanks to a 4-2 victory at St Paul’s.

Chadderton Reform recorded the result of the week a 6-0, 4-0 snooker and cards whitewash at home to Little Cot B.

Martin Kennedy continues to impress for Little Cot A. With his side 2-1 behind and well down on aggregate at home to Moss Inn C, Martin’s 43 break helped him to a 61- point winning margin which clawed back the aggregate and levelled the frames.

However, Steve Connell was unable to follow Martin’s example and Colin Hopkinson pulled out all the stops to take the final frame for Moss and give them a hard-fought 4-2 victory.

There is a delegates’ meeting on Sunday (12.30) at Chadderton Reform.

OLDHAM Snooker Academy extended their lead in the Manchester Snooker League after a 6-1 win over Reddish Cons ‘A’.
Behind after Craig Atherton’s defeat in the opening frame, Oldham were back on level terms after a break of 55 from Michael Wild..

There were also wins for Ian Atherton, Mick Dickenson and Sajid Zamurd as Oldham claimed an extra two points for the aggregate.

The ‘B’ team are riding high in their division after they came from behind to beat Reddish Cons ‘B’.

They lost the first two frames on the black, but recovered to win 5-2 thanks to Nasser Khan, Kamran Saeed and Naveed Mohammed.

Saeed completed an excellent clearance from brown to black after being a point down, while Mohammed compiled breaks of 27 and 25.

TARA Leisure lead Royton Cons by a point in the Saw-Tech Shaw Snooker League.

Crompton Cons head the cards table from Moss Inn, while Cartshaft hold sway in the darts, with Crompton Cons close up in second place.
