CBC open up lead at top

CBC have extended their unbeaten run to 11 games and, after recording their third successive 5-1 victory, are now two points clear at the top of the table in the Oldham Amateur Snooker League.

Springbank B, who suffered a 5-1 reverse at the hands of the 3 C’s, have dropped to second place.

Stanley Road got back to winning ways, recording a 4-2 victory at home to Springbank A.

M.J Smith took the last frame of the evening for Deaf B, courtesy of a 33 break, but it was Deaf A who ran out 4-2 winners.

Nimble Nook remain the team to catch in the cards league, but their lead has been cut to two points following a 3-1 defeat by Little Cot B.

Stanley Road are now snapping at their heels in second place with last season’s league champions, Moss B, well placed in third.

ROYTON-based potting sensation Aaron Davis (pictured) has retained his Pontins Festival under-14 snooker title at Prestatyn.



The 12-year-old is a member of the Ebbro Snooker Academy in Royton and is the protege of WBPSA Grade A coach Barry Broadbent, who has the highest regard for the youngster’s talent and predicts a bright future in the game for him.

Aaron , a pupil at Our Lady’s School, Royton, is also a regular for the Greater Manchester youth pool team.
