Cup ties called off

BOTH of the scheduled Carnegie Challenge Cup preliminary round ties involving the town’s amateur rugby league clubs fell foul of the freezing weather.
Waterhead will now host Drighlington this Saturday, with Oldham St Anne’s entertaining Wigan St Judes.
Saddleworth Rangers are now away at Bradford Dudley Hill this weekend, with originally scheduled opponents Normanton also involved in Challenge Cup action.
OLDHAM Rugby Union, due to play a rescheduled home game against Eccles last weekend, were also thwarted by the bad weather.
FERRANTI and Chadderton are holding a reunion night at the Little Cot Club, Whiteley Street, Chadderton, on Saturday, January 9 (7.30pm start).
