Amateurs in weekend wipe-out

ALL FOUR knockout games featuring local sides suffered a weekend wipe-out due to frozen pitches.
The Carnegie Challenge Cup preliminary round ties between Oldham St Anne’s and Wigan St Jude’s, and Waterhead and Drighlington, will both now take place this coming weekend.
Also off were the BARLA National Cup round two matches between Saddleworth Rangers and Wigan St Cuthbert’s and Higginshaw versus Hunslet Warriors.
Results — Carnegie Challenge Cup, preliminary round: Egremont 8, Oulton Raiders 36; Orchard Park and Greenwood 0, Wath Brow 72; Sharlston Rovers 12, Leigh East 20; York Acorn 18, Skirlaugh 12.
