Red-hot Academy pocket double

OLDHAM Snooker Academy ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams are riding high in their respective divisions in the Manchester Snooker League.
Fresh from the Christmas and New Year break, the ‘A’ side recorded a resounding 6-1 win against Houldsworth WMC
On fire for Oldham were Mick Dickenson, Craig Atherton, Sajid Zamurd and Ian Atherton. Zamurd was the star turn with a fine break of 52, but England International Michael Wild lost his third consecutive match.
Zamurd registered another 52 break in overcoming former professional Mark Carrington 2-0 in the Alexander Cup. Zamurd is now through to the last four of the individual competition.
The ‘B’ team posted an impressive 7-0 win at Reddish WMC ‘B’, thanks to Tanveer Hussain, Khalid Mahmood, Nasser Khan, Kamran Saeed and Naveed Mohammed.
Blue ‘B’ set their sights on title glory
BLUE Club ‘B’ staked their claim for the Oldham Amateur Snooker League title with a 4-2 win over CBC.
It was a case of after the Lord Mayor’s Show for Blue Club ‘A’ who, after whitewashing Moss Inn ‘C’, lost 6-0 at St Paul’s.
Despite being held to a 3-3 draw at Little Cot ‘A’, Springbank ‘B’ hold sway at the top of the table.
Stanley Road top the cards division, but Nimble Nook are hot on their heels with a game in hand.
