Quartet clear at Crompton

GOLF:

DEREK Cannon, Vic Smith, Stuart Thompson and Doug Kenyan teamed up to clinch a four-ball Stableford competition at Crompton and Royton.

They recorded 74 points to finish clear of Patrick Scott, Roy Gaskill, Alan Booth and Cyril King (69pts). Robert Calow, Chris Calow, Ryan O’Leary and Tim O’Leary (68pts) were third.



RICHARD Margrave won the first division of Stamford’s monthly medal over 14 holes.

Division two winner was Dave Halliday, who beat Alan Booth in a card play-off.

Dennis Batty won the third division prize.
