Navy boys set sail for round two

THE Royal Navy will be looking to steer a course into the next stage of the Carnegie Challenge Cup after securing a plum home tie in round two.
The draw, which was made on HMS Victory in Portsmouth, has pitted the senior service against the winners of the delayed first-round tie involving West London Sharks and Nottingham Outlaws.
Siddal, conquerors of Saddleworth Rangers, play host to Oulton, while Wigan St Jude’s, who edged out Oldham St Anne’s 13-12, entertain Milford Marlins if they can beat Stanningley on Saturday.
Pennine League outfit Drighlington, who overcame Waterhead 32-10 in the preliminary round, are at home to West Hull this weekend in the first round, with the winners going on to meet Castleford Lock Lane.

Pool ‘A’: Stanningley or Wigan St Jude’s v Milford Marlins; Rochdale Mayfield v Leigh East; Castleford Panthers v Thatto Heath Crusaders; Ovenden v Myton Warriors or Halton Cross Simms; Wath Brow Hornets v East Hull; Siddal v Oulton; Drighlington or West Hull v Castleford Lock Lane; Normanton or Wigan St Pats v Hunslet Warriors; Hull Dockers or Pilkington Recs v Shaw Cross or Leigh Miners Rangers.
Pool ‘B’: British Police v Leeds Met; RAF or Warrington Wizards v The Army; Edinburgh Eagles v Blackwood Bulldogs; The Navy v West London Sharks or Nottingham Outlaws.
Second-round ties are split into two pools and will be played over the weekend of February 13 and 14.
Oldham Roughyeds enter the competition at the third-round stage.
