’loo and Taunton go top

INBEV BOWLS: WATERLOO and Taunton returned to the top of the Inbev Winter Bowling League’s ‘A’ Division following their 9-2 defeat of New Street and previous leaders Springbank’s open date.

Outstanding for Waterloo was Lee Turner, who defeated Raymond Lorimer 21-8.

Reigning champions Royle are recovering from their mid-season blip and showed they will be a force to be reckoned with in future matches when slamming Nimble Nook 10-1.

Hopwood stayed in third thanks to a 9-2 defeat of host club Chadderton Cot, while New Street bounced back from their loss against Waterloo to beat Cot 10-1 in a rearranged match.

Lees/Springhead and North Chadderton continue to dominate the ‘B’ Division.

Lees/Springhead are nine points clear, with a game in hand, after their 10-1 dismissal of Prestwich, while North Chadderton strengthened their grip on second place with 9-2 victories over Failsworth and Dogwood.
