GOLF:
Brian Smithies, Geoff Grace, Jack Fellows and John Cartmel came out as winners in Crompton and Royton’s team medal at the weekend.
Their combined score of 124 was a point clear of Terry Donovan, Dave Ashcroft, Jimmy Frizzell and Lenny Hughes.
John Williams, Brian Stafford, Alan Watson and Steve Pass came third with 130 points.
