Waterhead boosted by win

AMATEUR RUGBY LEAGUE:
WATERHEAD were boosted by a 21-14 home win over Stanley Rangers in National Conference League division two — a first win for the Peach Road club since October of last year.
But all three remaining local sides exited the BARLA National Cup at the second round stage.
Higginshaw lost 56-0 at Hunslet Warriors, Saddleworth Rangers went down 22-18 at Wigan St Cuthbert’s and Oldham St Anne’s were again edged out by one point at home, losing
19-18 to Rylands. More details tomorrow.
