Title race hots up in ‘A’ division
Date published: 09 February 2010
BOWLS:
SPRINGBANK and Waterloo and Taunton are facing a nailbiting end-of-season battle to decide the winners of the Inbev Winter Bowling League’s ‘A’ division title.
Springbank did their chances no harm at the weekend with a 10-1 dismissal of Nimble Nook and 9-2 victory over Royle.
With one fixture remaining, they are seven points clear of Waterloo, who have a game in hand.
Waterloo overcame a potentially-tricky fixture against Hopwood, recording a 9-2 victory despite a rare defeat for Graeme Wilson at the hands of Clive Chapman.
Lees/Springhead, leaders of the ‘B’ division, had five losers against Vixens, but still managed to clinch the aggregate and win 6-5 thanks to 21-4 verdicts from B Reddyoff and A Cooke.
