CBC strengthen place at the top

SNOOKER:

A 5-1 victory for CBC over Blue Club A has seen them open up a four-point gap at the top of the Oldham Amateur Snooker League.

Stanley Road and Springbank B both suffered defeats, allowing the chasing pack to make up some ground.

Blue Club B’s 5-1 victory at Springbank has seen them rise to third place, just one point behind Stanley Road, while last season’s champions Deaf B are still in the mix in joint fourth with Springbank B.

With his side 3-1 down away at Nimble Nook, Alan Mellor’s 32 break was enough to seal the final frame of the night and give his side a vital point, but Nook took the spoils 4-2 on the night.

There is still a battle royal going on at the top of the card league with Nimble Nook just one point clear of Stanley Road.
