DARTS: Oldham men’s darts team pulled off the first part of a possible double when they clinched the Lancashire Knock-out Cup in Fleetwood.
The quintet of father and son Stuart and Lee Holden, John Moreton, Peter Connolly and Lee Williams were in imperious form, losing only four legs on their way to silverware glory.
Oldham marched through the group stages with wins over Bury (5-0), St Helens (4–1), Lune Valley (4-1) and Blackpool (5-0) before beating Wigan 4–1 to set up a showdown with Halliwell (Bolton).
And Oldham, chasing prize money of £700, notched a 4–1 win.
The team can now concentrate on the Lancashire GMC Super Eights, where they are locked in a title duel with Rochdale Borough.
