Girdlestone takes play-off win

GOLF: BILLY Girdlestone won a card play-off against Mark Gill to win the latest Blackley Golf Club Winter League competition after scoring 41 Stableford points.
Steve Newton (40 pts) won a four-way card play-off for third against Graham Bardsley, Steve Murray and Keith Neild.
KRIS Sutcliffe, Alistair Cameron, Jason Webster and Mark Robinson won a four-ball Stableford at Crompton and Royton.
Their score of 105 points was enough to see off a team comprising Norman Firth, Landy Wild, Roy Gaskill and Keith Masters (102), with Mike Gazey, junior captain Jordan Abbott, John Haigh and Jack Bottomley-Clift (99) in third.
