Town team goes clear

OLDHAM moved six points clear at the top of the Lancashire Super Eights after a 7-3 victory at Lune Valley.
The town team were on course for a whitewash — they led 5-0 at the halfway stage — but the the hosts hit back to win three of the remaining five matches.
Stuart Holden was the man-of-the-match, averaging 95.09 every three darts in an emphatic 4-0 success.
Also triumphant for Oldham were Gary Jackson (4-2, 77.51), Ian Walters (4-2, 79.68), Peter Day snr (4-1, 72.94), Dave Kenway 4-0 (81.08), Lee Holden (4-3, 83.52) and John Moreton (4-2, 74.45).
Oldham’s next game is away to Blackpool on Sunday, March 21.
Meanwhile, several local darts players are in action at Fleetwood on Sunday. They are competing in the Lancashire play-offs for the English Open Championships later in the year.
