Knock-out gets underway

BOWLS: THE Ben Shaws Knock-Out Cup gets underway on Chadderton Cot’s artificial green this weekend when the fixtures are:
Tomorrow - Nimble Nook (handicap 20) v Prestwich (40) at 10am; New Street (20) v Waterloo and Taunton (scr) at noon; Springbank (scr) v Hopwood (10) at 2pm.
Sunday - Royle (10) v Chadderton Cot (30) at 10am; Dogwood (60) v Lower Failsworth (50) at noon; Vixens (50) v Lees/Springhead (30) at 2pm.
Springbank’s Alan Hodson landed the ‘A’ Division individual averages prize from Peter Fielding (Royle) and Anthony Walker (Waterloo and Taunton). All three won 15 games, but Hodson had a superior points difference.
Terry Rogers (Lees/Springhead) claimed the ‘B’ Division prize after winning 15 of his 18 matches.
Steve Blaymire (Prestwich) and Brian Reddyoff (Lees/Springhead) were next with 14 wins.
