Disallowed try hits Hollinwood’s hopes

AMATEUR RUGBY LEAGUE: HOLLINWOOD’S hopes of a first win of the season in Pennine League division were dashed when Peter Jackson’s late try was ruled out.
Man-of-the-match Jackson was held up over the line, according to the referee, leaving Keighley Albion ‘A’ to squeeze home 22-18.
Victory would have been just reward for bottom-of-the-table Hollinwood, who recovered their composure after conceding two early tries.
Mick Wilson, who was inspired in both defence and attack, pulled a try back and Daz Cooper crossed for two more. Cooper also converted all three touchdowns.
Peter Davies, on debut, had safe hands and produced a fine turn of speed to link up well with Alistair Williams.
The pair could form a dangerous partnership for the remaining four games of the league season.
