Newton Heath CC, based on Mabel Street, Newton Heath, is looking for new recruits for both the first and second XIs for the new season.
The firsts play in the Manchester and District Association Premier League and the second’s are back in Division 2B of the same league after a heartbreaking final-day relegation last season.
Captained by all-rounder Michael Clewlow, a former Failsworth School pupil, the club are in the process of recruiting a new overseas player to replace stylish left-handed batsman Tom Lance who enjoyed two successful years at the club.
The second XI won promotion under skipper Martin O’Malley two years ago but return to Division 2B this year.
Anyone interested can call Martin O’Malley on 07908 704 938.
