Saints made to suffer

SNOOKER:

ST PAUL’S became the third team in four weeks to be on the wrong end of a 6-0 whitewash at the hands of Blue Club B who have now opened up a five-point gap over Deaf B in the Oldham Amateur Snooker League.

Moss Inn C registered a total 6-0 4-0 whitewash at home to Chadderton Reform, but Moss Inn A’s title hopes took a knock as they went down 6-0 at home to Three C’s.

With his side 4-0 down and staring down the barrel of a 6-0 drubbing, Deaf A’s Lee Fletcher stepped up to the plate and with help of a 41 break managed to take the final frame and avoid the whitewash at Springbank A

A victory for Stanley Road has put them top of the card table, two points ahead of Nimble Nook who have a game in hand.

The top two still have a healthy 13-point gap between themselves and third-placed Deaf A.
